I recently drove along this segment of the Erie Railroad and found
that the tracks, crossing signals, block signals, telegraph wires and
poles were still there.
Appently Conrail did not remove anything along this line but it
seems that no train has ventured over this line in appoximately ten
years judging from the overgrowth of vegitation. I also noticed that the
highway departments has not removed advance RR signs not paved over the
crossings. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the offical status of the
line is and what if any thing is Norfolk Southern is going to do with
this line.
