Jerome: Found another reference on this subject in Vol.. 1, No. 2 of the Erie Railfan. In the article on modeling one of these cars its says "Apparently, from what I (the author) have heard, these (the cars from ACF) were not brand spanking new - except to the Erie - but were up-graded trade-ins (Ed: Can anyone confirm this?)" Where the author (ME!) heard this I don't remember. But then I'm much older now and the memory just isn't what it used to be. By the way, to my knowledge, no one ever confirmed this.
