I seem to remember that the third sand filler hatch was an Erie-only thing - no other road, to the best of my knowledge, had this feature. Anyone know why the Erie did this? I am using Detail Associates parts to add the third hatch to my ex-Erie EL-painted E8's that I'm modeling, but they're not exactly correct.
