RE: (erielack) Erie Limited

Dear Listers:

There has been quite a bit of discussion on whether the Proto 2k E8's for
Eire came with a Mars light or a lower light on the front door. Earlier
today, (11/11) James Flynn wrote the response shown below indicating that
they did not come with this arrangement.

I would like to confirm James' comments. My Erie P2k E8's did not come with
these. I believe that some of the confusion is that the P2k E8's in DL&W
came with Mars lights (which I believe is prototypically correct) as I have
both #'s of these also.

I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

Regards,

Chris Thurner

Jack and all,
Beg to differ about the P2K E's. I have 14 of 'em just like the Erieand
none of mine ever came out of the boxes with a Mars light.
Life-Like, at the time of production offered all kinds of options,
depending on the road name a modeler wanted, including various steam
generatorconfigurations on the roof.
As far as I know, the Erie models are PRETTY DANG CLOSE !!
Not positive that the dark green couldn't have ben a touch lighter
though.
