Will, > Short hood horn needs to be replaced with a single chime horn facing > forward with respect to the short hood. Did these units ever have a > second horn during their DL&W days? Yes - Bob Bahrs was able to answer my question about this. There was a second single-chime "blat" horn that faced in the opposite direction. It was rarely seen because it was located centered between the torpedo tubes and the exhaust stacks! Look carefully at the elevated photo in the Sweetland DL&W color book (coming around Garrett Mountain in Paterson), and you can barely make out the horn. > The truck journal boxes aren't quite correct. These are easily changed - I do believe there is a detail part for this? > Otherwise GO GET 'EM! Be forewarned that I've been told by some dealers that the DL&W ones are in short supply - apparently, it seems that the "rabid DL&W fans" are all buying five of these at a pop - the entire fleet! Good for them, good for Life-Like, and good for the hobby! :) - Paul ------------------------------------------------------------ Visit the erielack photopage at http://el-list.railfan.net ------------------------------
