RE: (erielack) EL FT lettering



Tony,

	This was the earliest of the "patch job" relettering variants. Those
large "box roadname" decals were made in yellow and maroon, the former to
put onto Erie units, the latter onto the DL&W units. These were *temporary*
lettering jobs, to be replaced by the standard (initially, the standard has
"ERIE LACKAWANNA" in yellow 7" Roman on the back carbody, but later had just
an EL diamond)

Can't think off hand of what the B-units were decorated like, but I don't
think they had the spelled-out roadname (nor do I think they had a diamond -
they might just have been black!)
