Mike, > In the ELHS "Diamond" (Vol.12, No.2, p.12) there is a partial > photo of a > NYSW PS-1 lettered "RAILWAY EXPRESS AGENCY" in the door > panel. The NYS&W had 35 of these PS-1's, 400-434. I *believe* (don't quote me on this) that the first *5* (400-404) were in REA service. (I know for a fact that 402 was in this service) My assumption is that these cars were out of passenger service by the mid-1950's - I know they didn't last all that long in this service. The Susquehanna sold 33 of these 35 cars to the Monon (402 and one other car remained for company service) 402 today is part of the URHS collection - it was the only PS-1 to be repainted black/yellow. It's sitting at Cedar Knolls, NJ on the Morristown & Erie. - Paul ------------------------------------------------------------ Visit the erielack photopage at http://el-list.railfan.net ------------------------------
