(erielack) Rahway Valley RR.

Question on this shortline: not strictly E-L, but connected...

Every evening I drive I78 East from Murray Hill and cross an overpass just
before the connection with Rte24. There's an old quarry on the right with a
bunch of rusting equipment: was this cut the Rahway Valley ROW?

I know where the remains of the old bridge are just below Summit Hospital. Where
did the ROW go from there? I remember it being in place when I was in HS in the
'70s. You could see the connection in Summit When did it get torn out? Are there
any other remains? Anything that's still operational?

I've looked on the map in the RRs of NJ photobook (with the Roselle Park
photos...) but it's not detailed enough to show the real route.

Can anyone point me to any other sources? I know there's a nice story and some
steam photos in one of the Beebe books, but I forget which one.

Thanks in advance!
