Specialized cars are much of the reason you don't see that many boxcars. Automobiles once travelled in boxcars, with special racks so they could get more than -2- autos into a 40' boxcar. Now we have trilevel autorack cars that carry a dozen. Can you imagine trying to carry bags of plastic pellets in a boxcar?
