Aloha, I'm trying to model the DL&W from Hoboken to points west in the late 40's to early fifties, including electrified and non-electrified service. From the available pictures the electrified consists were all twin axle, but I cannot tell anything about the truck configuration on the non-electrified heavyweights (twin or triple axle). Can anyone help? So far I am limiting my consists to passenger only, although I have purchased some engines used for freight. I am going to have to kitbash virtually every car, since I don't have access to much in the way of model railroad suuplies here in Hawaii. If anyone can send me info on kitbashing MU power cars, passenger cars, combine control cars, or other types of non-eltrified heavyweight cars or provide some guidance on where to get the information, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm modelling in HO scale, but the process should be similar to another scale. I've heard there was an article in MR or RMC within the last few years? about kitbashing the MU power car. Anyone read or know of the article? I have also been trying to find HO scale cars used in the early 50's "Phoebe Snow". From the pictures I have seen, it would appear the consist included Smoothside and Streamlined. I know Budd made the observation and diner, but have not been able to find a current manufacturer in HO. Any help or information on the consist or place to buy the cars would be welcome. Thanks in advance. John :) ------------------------------------------------------------ Visit the erielack photopage at http://el-list.railfan.net ------------------------------
