Hi all,
Can anyone on the list help Amy out? Please make sure you send any
replies to her ("demeo_@_bellsouth.net") as well as the list as she's not
subscribed. -- Rob

Hi. I admit to my lack of knowledge on a subject you are obviously very
caring of...trains. My gr grandfather, Thomas Hesser, was the passenger
locomotive engineer on the Lackawanna Limited when he retired at 70. He
had
been with the DL&W from 1900 (for 43 years) in many different jobs, but
was
engineer for the Lackawanna Limited for 8 years. He started when he was
young, working for the Lehigh Valley RR in Waverly, where his father
Abraham
Hesser worked.
He moved to Buffalo NY, I think when he went with DL&W. I Love the
photos I
have seen on this sight....I'm just too ignorant of the subject to
figure
out which photos should mean something to me regarding my gr
grandfather.
Would you be so kind as to lend me some historical information or
direction
towards pictures of Trains or stations that he may have worked on? I
know he
did a run to Elmira his last trip, and we think he had a mistress in
Waverly, so he must have stopped there. That's all I know for
now....Any
publications or maillists you think I should know about? He was a very
nice
man and I want him to be remembered.
Thank you for your time ( and the nice train pictures!!)
