I had a chance to do something tonite I've wanted to do for a long time: I walked the entire length of the former wye located between Nineveh and Afton - the straight section of the wye is long enough to hold approx 4 challengers. I'm not sure when it was put in - and I think the tracks were pulled around 1957. Anyway, I got all the way to the end of the wye fill and found 2 rr ties lying parallel to the way tracks were laid and spaced the same distance apart as the rails when they were there and almost covered by cinders. The fill for the wye protrudes east off the main into the river valley and very visible in the winter - just across Rt 7 from Walt Noyes Ford. ------------------------------------------------------------ Visit the erielack photopage at http://el-list.railfan.net ------------------------------
