traffic is down right now for track upgrades. If you really want to get into discussion of the modern-era Tier, drop me a note - there's another list dedicated to that. They have hired out about 25 people and rumor is more will be hired, so they must plan some kind of traffic increase between that and the track upgrades. Several new detectors have been added as well. Trainees are all over the place, one local had 5 guys on it (I bet they got a lot of work done!) and only one engine. Not only crowded, but I recall a Conrail rule prohibiting more than 4 men on the cab! One thing I did hear is that NS changed their mind and will not have a great increase, right away - 4 more trains or something like that. But those plans can change again and again - Bill K. - ---------- > From: rick williams <"r_williams_@_ctlnet.com"> > To: erie <"erielack_@_internexus.net"> > Subject: (erielack) re: implementation update > Date: Monday, October 05, 1998 7:44 PM > > in regards to the question of possible increase of intermodal traffic over > the southern tier, i believe the answer is yes, and also believe that you > may also see the implementation of triple crown service over the southern > tier > > > ------------------------------------------------------------ > Visit the erielack photopage at http://el-list.railfan.net ------------------------------------------------------------ Visit the erielack photopage at http://el-list.railfan.net ------------------------------
