(erielack) HEAD END CAR INFO

This is from a previous message shared on the system about head end cars.
What was the color / style of the lettering on the "silver" box cars??

I believe there is a BW photo of one of these in "Lackawanna Heritage" book. It clearly looks like the car is a light color (ie silver), but the lettering is , of course, black due to the photograph.

"In 1955 the Lackawanna converted two of the 10000-10040 boxcars into mechanically refrigerated milk cars, and these silver-painted boxes were in active service until the very last load of
revenue milk, in 1966 for Sheffield Farms in Endicott City. "

Thanks.
