If my information is correct the cantenary maintenance vehicle spotted at
Center Street last night yesterday ( I also saw it ) is intended for use on
the Hoboken Division electrified territory. NJT had the purchase item in their
budget a couple of years ago but I beleive it was selved in order to speed up
the installation of cab signally equipment. Amtrak has several similar
vehicles manufactured by Plasser-American, Inc., in use on the Corridor. Its
use would cut the number of wire train extras on our division as it is classed
as a track car and operated under those rules.
