The DL&W/EL had both styles of handrails. The straignt handrails were on the FM's that were capable of being used in passenger service. The dipped handrails were strictly freight. Both are perfectly correct for the EL. I don't think they lasted very long on the EL. I think they were traded in for EMD equipment shortly into the merger. Not sure though.
