While it was plenty cold in the Western New York area during February we
still managed to get out and do some railfanning. March was almost here and
symptoms of Spring Fever were already appearing. I couldn't resist and spent
a good deal of time out on Tuesday the 23rd and Thursday the 25th with Will Holloway from
Iron Horse America Video
shooting video and stills.
I had to meet Harry Scholz in Hornell on Saturday the 27th to pick up a
collection of Rails Northeast magazines (wonderful 70's stuff!) so I decided
to fan "The Tier" on the way back to Buffalo. Saturday turned out to be sunny
and much warmer, so much so that I spent a lot of time sitting trackside in
Dale and Darien on one of my portable chairs reading the latest Railfan
Magazine while waiting for runbys, it felt like Spring!

Last runby of the day on the Tier for me. Long awaited TV203 finally shows up at Darien's ex-Erie depot. I had heard it being told to meet TV78 at Swain quite some time ago, before I even got to Warsaw. I had waited a while for it at Attica with the ever present "Coaltrain", a Rochester railfan who loves the Attica depot. I finally decided to try and catch the meet here.
