Crossroads Park Fundraiser, Deshler, Ohio December 8, 2001
JK, JO and I headed out to Deshler for their cold weather fundraiser gathering
on Saturday.
You wouldn't know that the weather forecasts called for rain and mid 30's
temperatures by the excellent turnout of Railfans from all over the northeast
and midwest!
The weather obliged us by keeping the rain at bay until about 10PM and the
temperature stayed above 40f. CSX obliged us with near-constant train action.
Bill Shaffer supplied endless quantities of "DERF Chicken" and the Cincinnati
contingent brought up a large batch of "Camp Washington Chili" and "Montgomery
Inn" BBQ Sauce.
Decent weather, lots of trains on both mains, tons of food and good company
made the entire event a complete success!
Here are a few select shots from the day's activities and once again, we're
all looking forward to our next trip to Crossroads Park in Deshler!

Some light power had to wait on the north side of Deshler for the Q375 to move on down the Toledo Sub.

The Cincinnati gang had the "Camp Washington Chili" simmering in the shelter all day long.

Q517-08 with SD50 8648 in the lead rolls by the Crossroads Park. Ex-CR C40-8W 7313 and spartan cabbed C40-8 7584 trailed with a mixed freight.
