Conrail Buffalo Belt Line May 15, 1977

Just one year after Conrail came into being I hopped a train from Delaware Ave. on the ex-NYC Buffalo Belt Line to Frontier Yard on the City's East Side.

Credit my teenage (15 years old!) ignorance for the obviously irresponsible acts of tresspassing depicted in this collection, but it is worth preserving for the historical value of this middle 70's snapshot of PC/Conrail in Buffalo.

I did have to walk about 4 miles home, no west/northbound trains ran for over 3 hours that evening. Punishment for an irresponsible railfan? :)

Kids, don't try this at home!

The original photos were faded Kodacolor 64 prints which took some digital image processing to clean up, but they still aren't great :(
