A shop employee was crawling over the 70MACs apparently doing a final check on the electricals and the markers had just been lit up. 4134 and 4135 were running in preparation for service later than night.

We were just walking back to the car as the light was shot and we figured that was it for the night when all of a sudden the string with the new 70MACs started to move!
They ran down the lead about 300 yards and just sat there. Apparently work on these 6 units was complete and they were lining them up for ferry moves and revenue service. The 4134 and 4135 were reported a few hundred miles westbound the next day.

"HANK, HANK, THEY'RE MOVING!!!" I was across the street ready to get in the car and needless to say I sprinted back to the fence to get what shots I could in the poor lighting.

The 9327 was the former EL 463, nee' DL&W 568 built in 1957. Current disposition is unknown as of 10-01-98.

A former Erie bay window caboose in the dead line at Juniata Shops. I believe this to be the 21142. This would make it an N7D built by International Car in 1953 originally equipped with trucks similar to those on express reefers.
Can anyone positively identify this car and its past? We believe it to be Erie C342.

Unit Q#1 sandwiched between B23-7 2808 and a C40-8W back by the turntable behind the shops taken from the dead end of 6th St. in East Altoona.
We recently received information (via PaulTup and Bill K.) that Q#1 is the Ex-EL SD45 3632 which wore the EL Bicentenial paint scheme. The hood is gone, but the cab and chassis remain for test-bed use.
Does anyone have more information on this unit and its history?
